Trail of Answers turns unlike-denominator subtraction into a simple follow-the-path puzzle. Students begin with the first problem, solve and simplify the difference, find that answer in the answer box, and use the directions beside it to locate the next problem. This activity strengthens fraction subtraction, common denominators, equivalent fractions, simplification, answer checking, and logical sequencing.
