Model Match

Model Match helps students connect written subtraction equations with visual fraction representations. Students study the shaded models, solve each like-denominator subtraction problem, select the model showing the correct remaining amount, and write the simplified answer. This activity strengthens fraction models, subtraction, visual reasoning, numerator understanding, denominator recognition, simplification, and equation-model connections.
