Benchmark Check
Benchmark Check helps students estimate the size of an answer before carrying out a full fraction calculation. Students read each word problem, use a stated benchmark such as one whole, two cups, ten, fifteen, or twenty, and decide whether the answer should be less than, about equal to, or greater than that benchmark.
