Sorting Continuity

Students read each sentence and determine whether it uses the past continuous or the past perfect continuous tense. They label each one with “PC” or “PP,” reinforcing the distinctions between an action that was happening at a moment and an action that had been happening before another event. This sorting task builds analytical thinking by requiring students to evaluate time markers and verb structures. It also reinforces verb tense recognition through repetition and comparison. By the end, students strengthen their ability to distinguish subtle grammar contrasts.
