Intense Inserts

Students fill in each sentence with the correct intensive pronoun to add emphasis. They choose from forms such as myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, and themselves. The activity reinforces the idea that intensive pronouns strengthen the meaning of a sentence but are not essential to its grammar. Learners refine their ability to match pronouns to antecedents correctly. They also develop an understanding of how emphasis changes tone and voice in writing. This activity supports both grammar skills and expressive writing.
