Social or Private?

Students read ten brief scenarios and decide whether each describes a Social Topic (appropriate to share in public) or a Private Topic (better kept personal). This requires students to think about boundaries, sensitivity, and what types of information may make others uncomfortable. The activity helps learners understand the difference between casual conversation and personal matters that should not be shared widely. It encourages careful judgment about what is appropriate to discuss in various social settings and strengthens students’ ability to recognize social norms.
