Media Bias Analysis

Students read two short news excerpts about the Civil Rights Movement: one supportive and one critical. They answer questions comparing the language, tone, and bias in each excerpt. Learners identify positive and negative wording, analyze author perspective, and explain the importance of recognizing bias when studying historical sources. This activity strengthens media literacy, critical reading, and the ability to evaluate differing portrayals of the same event.
