Locked Mysteries

Students read a suspenseful passage told from a specific point of view, then determine whether it is first-person, third-person limited, or third-person omniscient. They identify clues that reveal the point of view and explain how it shapes the reader’s understanding of events and emotions in the story. Students also consider how the story might change if told from a different perspective. This worksheet builds comprehension of narrative perspective and deepens understanding of author craft.
