Telephone QAR
Students read a passage about the invention of the telephone and identify the QAR type for each question. After labeling each item, they write a “think-aloud” explanation describing how they determined the QAR classification. This reflective step builds metacognition and strengthens comprehension strategy awareness. Students practice distinguishing between literal text questions, interpretive questions, and questions requiring personal insight.
