Deep Sea QAR
Students read a passage about the deep sea and create their own QAR questions-one of each type: Right There, Think and Search, Author and Me, and On My Own. They must base their questions on the passage while demonstrating understanding of how each QAR category functions. This exercise builds higher-level thinking, creativity, and comprehension by requiring students to reverse-engineer questions that match specific reading skills. It also reinforces the distinctions between literal, inferential, and opinion-based questions.
