Identifying QAR Types

In this worksheet, students read a passage about the invention of the printing press and identify the QAR type for each comprehension question. They examine whether the answer is found directly in the text (Right There), across multiple sentences (Think and Search), requires combining text with background knowledge (Author and Me), or asks for personal opinions (On My Own). This activity deepens understanding of how questions differ in complexity and teaches students how to retrieve, infer, and reflect with accuracy. It strengthens comprehension by helping learners match thinking strategies to question types.
