Appeal Analyzer

Students read a persuasive passage and identify examples of ethos, logos, and pathos. They record examples in a chart and explain why each appeal is effective. The worksheet helps students recognize how authors use credibility, logic, and emotion to strengthen arguments. Through reflection questions, learners evaluate which persuasive technique appears most strongly in the passage and why. They also analyze the author’s effectiveness in reaching the intended audience. Additional prompts ask students to reflect on which appeal they personally find most persuasive. This worksheet deepens understanding of classical argumentation strategies.
