Lessons in the Sky
Students read a passage about Arjun entering a kite-flying contest and learning an important life lesson. After reading, they answer comprehension questions that explore the story’s moral, the turning point in Arjun’s understanding, and how the lesson can apply to their own lives. Students also evaluate multiple possible morals, selecting the one that best fits the story and supporting their choice with text evidence. This activity strengthens students’ ability to identify themes and moral lessons in fiction and connect them to character choices.
