Challenge the Text
Students read a persuasive passage and generate three critical questions that challenge the author’s assumptions, reasoning, or evidence. They must explain why each question is valuable and how it exposes weaknesses in the argument. This activity strengthens learners’ ability to interrogate a text rather than accept statements at face value. Students evaluate claims about academic expectations and consider alternative viewpoints. A reflection prompt invites them to state whether they agree with the author’s position and justify their stance. The worksheet encourages curiosity, skepticism, and thoughtful engagement with arguments.
