Text Structure Boxes

Students read a series of short paragraphs and determine which of the five major text structures each represents. The passages include examples of cause/effect, chronological, problem/solution, compare/contrast, and description. Learners write their answers in labeled boxes, using context clues and signal words to guide their choices. This exercise promotes close reading, pattern recognition, and critical thinking as students learn how organizational structure affects meaning and clarity in writing.
