Honeybee Text Patterns

This two-passage worksheet invites students to compare how different text structures convey information on the same topic-honeybees. One passage uses a cause/effect format, while the other is descriptive. Students answer comprehension questions explaining how each structure works, what signal words indicate it, and why an author might choose one over another. This analysis promotes understanding of author’s purpose and the function of organization in nonfiction writing. It also develops higher-order reasoning through comparing structural intent and content delivery.
