Text Structure Matching

Students apply their understanding of informational structures by matching five short passages to labeled structure types. They analyze each excerpt to decide whether it fits cause/effect, compare/contrast, chronological, problem/solution, or description. This task reinforces close reading and interpretation of context clues such as sequencing phrases, comparative terms, and descriptive detail. A challenge section invites students to rewrite one passage in a different structure, promoting creativity and flexible thinking.
