Revealing Lines
In this worksheet, students choose one of five prompts and write a dialogue in which a character accidentally reveals a deeper truth, emotion, or secret. The reveal must happen naturally through the conversation, teaching learners how subtext works in storytelling. Students explore how word choice, hesitation, and conversational flow can convey unintended meaning. This exercise strengthens dialogue realism and character development. It also supports students in crafting dynamic scenes where conversations move the story forward.
