Clarity Revision Task

Students read a formal paragraph where besides is used too frequently and sometimes incorrectly. Their task is to revise the paragraph by replacing unnecessary uses of besides with more precise transitional words (such as also, in addition, moreover, or furthermore) and by substituting beside when describing physical location. This activity builds advanced editing skills and helps learners improve clarity, tone, and overall sentence flow. Students gain experience refining formal writing and selecting transitions that strengthen coherence and professionalism.
