Create Categories

This worksheet requires students to read a mixed list of items and determine their own logical ways to group them. Students create three unique category labels based on shared characteristics among the items. They must then sort each item into one of their chosen categories, encouraging deeper analysis of attributes and functions. The activity promotes flexible thinking because no single correct answer exists; categories depend on the student’s reasoning.
