Evaluating Deep Questions

Students read an informational passage about the Dust Bowl and complete two parts: answering comprehension questions and labeling question types. They respond to specific questions about the content and then classify additional questions as factual, inferential, or evaluative. This worksheet teaches students to think critically about the purpose of different types of questions and how they require different kinds of responses. The activity also develops deeper understanding of historical events while reinforcing evidence-based reasoning.
