Mixed Messages
In this worksheet, students analyze short scenarios in which a character’s body language or facial expressions send mixed emotional signals. For each situation, students choose from four answer options to determine what the person is really feeling. This exercise strengthens students’ ability to interpret nonverbal cues such as fidgeting, clenched fists, slumped shoulders, or avoiding eye contact. By recognizing when words and body language do not match, students develop emotional inference skills and learn to read social situations more accurately. The multiple-choice format reinforces critical thinking and supports comprehension of subtle social cues.
