Which One?
This worksheet provides ten everyday scenarios and asks students to label each as Weathering (W) or Erosion (E). Learners analyze whether the situation describes rock breaking down in place or being transported to a new location. Examples include ice wedging, plant roots, acid rain, waves, rivers, landslides, rusting, wind movement, and glaciers. The activity strengthens students’ ability to differentiate between closely related Earth processes. A bonus challenge requires students to justify one weathering and one erosion example in a sentence each, building explanation skills. This reinforces both scientific reasoning and vocabulary accuracy.
