Harbor Perspectives

Students read three short first-person accounts representing a merchant, a sailor, and a patriot, each giving a different viewpoint on the Boston Tea Party. They answer comprehension questions to identify who is concerned about money, rights, job security, or protest, and explain how each person interprets the event differently. This activity strengthens skills in perspective-taking and helps students understand how people in colonial Boston experienced political events in varied ways. The worksheet deepens comprehension of economic, social, and political motivations leading to rebellion. Students analyze tone, motivation, and historical context through close reading.
