Movement Sorting

Students read six descriptions of actions or achievements and sort each one into the appropriate movement: Racial Civil Rights (RCR), Women’s Rights (WR), or Labor Rights (LR). They then answer two critical thinking questions about how civil rights movements helped expand access to the American Dream and how achieving these goals improved future opportunities. This activity builds understanding of major social movements and the ways they advanced equality and opportunity. Students develop classification skills and deepen their awareness of civic progress.
