The Missing Middle
Students read the beginning and ending of a short story about Jada finding a mysterious wooden box, then presenting it during Show and Tell. Their task is to write the middle section that logically connects the two events. They must think carefully about how the story progresses and create a clear sequence that bridges the opening and closing moments. This exercise strengthens narrative thinking, reinforces story flow, and encourages students to include logical actions or discoveries in the middle. It also supports creativity while grounding students in structured storytelling.
