Progressive Headlines

This worksheet presents students with incomplete Progressive Era newspaper headlines. Students fill in the missing words using their knowledge of major reforms, events, and reformers. They then identify the reform or event each headline refers to, such as antitrust actions, women’s suffrage, meatpacking inspections, or muckraker exposés. A brief reflection helps students explain why one headline represented an important change for Americans. The activity strengthens content recall, historical reasoning, and comprehension of how journalism captured reform movements.
