Strawberry to Basket Precision Maze

This one is a really nice jump in visual demand because the pathways are a bit tighter and more layered. As students guide the strawberry to the basket, they need to stay very aware of where they are in the maze-there’s less room for drifting or guessing. What I like here is that it naturally encourages students to slow down and check their path before moving forward. I’d use this with Kindergarten students who are beginning to show more control and are ready for that added level of precision.

Targeted Skills

  • Tight Path Navigation – Managing movement within narrower boundaries.
  • Visual-Motor Precision – Aligning hand movement closely with the path.
  • Attention to Detail – Noticing small differences between routes.
  • Pacing Control – Slowing down to maintain accuracy.

Instructional Support

  • Great for Refining Control – Moves beyond basic tracing into precision work.
  • Encourages Thoughtful Movement – Less impulsive, more intentional.
  • Strong Observation Tool – You can see who is visually tracking vs. guessing.
  • Supports Writing Development – Similar control needed for smaller print.

This is one of those worksheets where you’ll really notice a difference in approach. Some students will begin to trace more carefully, almost “hugging” the line, while others may still drift. That distinction is important-it shows who is starting to internalize control and who still needs support with pacing and attention.
