Break the Trusts
Students examine the role of monopolies during the Gilded Age and complete a pro-and-con argument chart about government regulation of big business. They develop at least three arguments on each side before answering debate-preparation questions in complete sentences. This encourages students to consider multiple viewpoints and use historical evidence to defend a position. The worksheet supports critical thinking, persuasive reasoning, and understanding of the political responses to monopolies. It prepares learners for discussions, debates, or argumentative writing tasks.
