Nick or Daisy’s Diary
Students step into the shoes of either Nick Carraway or Daisy Buchanan and write diary entries for three major story moments: the reunion, the confrontation, and the aftermath. By adopting a character’s voice, students practice understanding perspective, emotion, and subtext. This writing task encourages empathy, creativity, and deeper insight into how characters interpret the same events differently based on their desires, fears, and loyalties.
