Closing Reflection

This exit slip asks students to respond to three short but meaningful prompts that blend personal opinion, text-based reasoning, and real-world connections. Students begin by stating whether they would risk everything to save books. They then support their stance using an example from the novel, such as the old woman’s sacrifice or Montag’s rebellion. Finally, they consider a real-world example of people risking safety to protect ideas, stories, or knowledge. This activity strengthens students’ ability to connect literature to personal values and contemporary issues.
