Traditions Comparison
Students compare three traditions from Esperanza’s life in Mexico with their own family traditions. The worksheet includes traditions such as birthday fiestas, crocheting with Abuelita, and harvesting grapes. For each, students describe a similar or different tradition in their own family and determine whether the traditions align or differ. A reflection prompt asks students to consider why traditions matter for families and how they shape identity and belonging. This activity encourages cultural awareness, personal connection, and thematic understanding.
