Summer and Winter Shift

Students describe a lakeside dock in two different seasons-summer and winter. Each section asks students to write 3-4 sentences using sensory words to capture mood, temperature, colors, and sounds typical to each season. This task teaches students how environmental changes affect description and mood. Learners gain practice in observing contrasts in atmosphere and scene details. By writing two descriptive paragraphs, they deepen their sense of how setting enhances narrative tone.
