Timeline Sorting

This worksheet requires students to organize twelve events from the play into their proper chronological order. Because Death of a Salesman blends present-day scenes with flashbacks, students must identify when each event occurs and distinguish Present Day (PD) from Flashback (FB). This strengthens understanding of plot structure, narrative sequencing, and Miller’s manipulation of time. Students must read closely to determine which moments reflect memory versus current events. The activity reinforces comprehension of the play’s nonlinear format and helps students track Willy’s psychological blurring of past and present.
