Alternate Ending Writing Answer Key

This worksheet invites students to write an alternate ending to Charlotte’s Web imagining what might have happened if Charlotte had lived longer. Students write at least one paragraph describing the effects on Wilbur, Charlotte, and the other animals while staying true to the characters’ personalities. The task encourages learners to explore how the theme of friendship might change under new circumstances. An added challenge encourages including dialogue to make the writing feel more like the original story. This activity promotes creativity, reinforces understanding of character traits, and improves narrative writing skills.
