Inner vs. Outer Planets

In this comparison activity, students classify characteristics of the inner (terrestrial) and outer (gas and ice giant) planets. Using a list of facts, they determine which belong to each category and record them in a two-column chart. The exercise builds understanding of planetary composition, atmosphere, orbit, and size differences. The bonus challenge prompts critical reasoning about the boundary between inner and outer planets. This activity strengthens analytical and categorization skills in planetary science.
