Twenty-Five Pathway Puzzle

This one really brings together multiple movement types in a way that feels more advanced but still very accessible. Students move through the straight and angled structure of the “2,” then shift into the mixed curves and lines of the “5.” That transition requires both control and flexibility-they have to adjust their movement without losing focus. I’d use this with Kindergarten and early Grade 1 students who are ready for more integrated motor challenges.

Key Learning Objectives

  • Movement Flexibility – Transitioning between different path types smoothly.
  • Integrated Motor Control – Managing curves and angles in one task.
  • Sustained Attention – Staying focused across a longer, multi-part maze.
  • Precision Through Change – Maintaining control even when patterns shift.

Teaching Advantages

  • Strong Skill Integration – Combines multiple tracing demands in one worksheet.
  • Great for Identifying Transition Gaps – Shows where students struggle to adjust.
  • Supports Writing Development – Similar to forming multi-stroke numbers and letters.
  • Encourages Intentional Movement – Students must think ahead to stay accurate.

This is a really rich worksheet to observe because of that transition point. Students often handle the first number confidently, then need to slow down and rethink their movement when they hit the second. That moment of adjustment is exactly what we want to develop. It’s where tracing starts to become controlled, intentional movement rather than just following a line.
