Bias and Tone Analyzer

Students read a paragraph and identify biased or subjective language by highlighting specific words and phrases. They then answer questions that ask them to explain how the narrator’s word choices shape the paragraph’s tone. Finally, they rewrite one sentence from the paragraph in a more neutral voice, reinforcing the distinction between objective and biased narration. This activity strengthens analytical thinking as students evaluate how language influences reader perception. It also enhances revision skills as they practice removing bias while preserving meaning.
