Rolling Object Sort
Students classify objects based on whether they roll or do not roll. They look at each pictured item and draw a line either to the wheel symbol or the “X” symbol to indicate the correct group. This activity strengthens students’ understanding of object properties related to movement. It introduces basic physical science concepts by encouraging children to think about shape and how it affects motion. Students improve observational reasoning by examining the structure of each object. The task reinforces early critical-thinking skills as children make predictions about movement. Fine motor skills are practiced through line drawing.
